Engaging Super Mario Games To Play Online

Labels:

Super Mario is a popular and well-liked game that is played by both kids and adults alike. They enjoy it because it is an adventure game full of action. The game story presents an Italian plumber called Mario who searches for Princess Peach to save her in the Mushroom Kingdom.
The game was created by Japanese company Nintendo in 1985 and has got a lot of fans since that time. It is an entertaining video game that can be played by the second player as well. To make it possible, Nintendo has developed and introduces a second character - Luigi, another Italian plumber, who is Mario's brother. He is Mario's assistant and helps him find the Princess.
According to the statistics, Mario is one of the most popular and liked video game characters these days. Even though he is created almost 30 years ago, it is a favorite video hero for two generations and his popularity did not diminish with the years. There are hundreds of variations created based on the original game, where Mario is the main character.
Obviously, most children prefer to play adventure types of Mario games. Internet replaces the old video game consoles required before to play the game. There are many Super Mario online games, some of which are at multiplayer mode and they are for free.
There are a lot of sites that offer free variations of Mario games, such as Mario Kart, Puzzle, Super Mario Bros, etc. All of them are a big hit today, especially among children and teenagers. It is enough to have a PC with an Internet connection to have a fun with these super games. Besides the attractive character, which most of the time is crazy and very funny, the music and graphics are also very entertaining, which doubles the pleasure from playing this game.
One special feature of Mario is that he may become much bigger in size if he eats a special magic mushroom. His size will become normal again as soon as Mario meets the turtle.
Let's take a closer look at some of the Super Mario variations, which are most popular and available on the Internet.
Super Mario Flash is a great flash game, where Mario's task is to collect coins that give him points and help him kill evil Koopas and Goombas. It is quite similar to the original Mario game, but makes use of the flash technology. The magic mushroom will make Mario stronger and bigger, but to keep his size and strength, he needs to avoid the old turtle, otherwise he will be killed. This game is an excellent entertainment for boring days and evenings or just for your spare time.
Super Mario Mushroom Kingdom is another game with a bit different story of a kidnapped princess. Mario should go to the mushroom kingdom and rescue the little princess and save her from the bad guy.
Mario Video Poker is a game that combines both Poker and Super Mario. It looks just like a usual casino poker game with only distinction that Mario will bet on your behalf.
Super Mario Moto - another game that should be tried. It is unique with the fact that Mario is on a bike. It is very exciting and more challenging than others.
Super Mario bros presents a completely new level of entertainment. Much more fun is added to the old game and transferred on the Internet, so all young players could have a fulltime access. It is created in two versions: Super Flash Mario and Mario Overrun. This model is more challenging compared to the old version, as the player needs to handle the attack of numerous enemies at once and destroy the kuppas. The game involves the usage of modern weapons, such as bombs, plasma, as well as shot guns to achieve the goal and destroy the enemies. The player should also preserve and save the castle from all the enemies and Kuppas, which mission is to bring it down.
A lot of super Mario versions just like the spug shock, Sunshine 64, rampage, star catcher, infinite Mario, etc.have already been transferred online and there are many more to come.
In order to complete the challenging levels, the player has to practice a lot. It may require a few hours of practice before you start winning the game. One additional advantage that the game offers is the interaction and competition between online players that makes the game even more thrilling and funny. It is up to you when you will play this game online, as the video game sites offer a fulltime online access at no cost.

Super Mario 3D Player Review

Labels:

Nintendo expected their new handheld 3DS system to sell like hot cakes... but it unfortunately didn't. There were not any games that were properly showing the capabilities of the revolutionary system, so it gave no incentive for consumers to buy it.
Now I just picked myself up a 3DS this week for the sole purpose of trying out the hyped game: Super Mario 3D Land. Let me first say that I wasn't sure what to expect. This applies to both the handheld itself and the game. Nintendo hasn't let me down in the past, so I felt at least some level of confidence (enough to make the purchase).
But as soon as I turned on the console and started playing, it was amazingly breathtaking. The 3D looked so real. I would consistently attempt to look at the 3D screen and try to see a 2D image, but it was messing with my brain... I just couldn't do it.
The 3DS absolutely lives up to its name. Lucky for Nintendo, Super Mario 3D Land was able to demonstrate the capabilities immensely. They included two modes on the game. The first mode is for "pop-out 3D", where it appears that Mario is actually jumping out of the screen. The second mode is for "indented 3D", where it appears that you are looking into a little box through the opening on your screen. Both demonstrate depth perception exceedingly well.
Console aside, the game is a mix between New Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Mario Bros 3. You get to use that crazy tanooki suit again and it's just as fun as before. (Might I add cute) But you are not going to see the capability of turning to stone until you beat the first round of the game.
For all of the hard-core Mario fans, don't let this one slip through your fingertips. I know it is hard to shell out $150 for a new handheld, but let me assure you that it is totally worth it. If nothing else, sell it after you are done! Or even make your way to your local used-games store to see if anyone turned one in.
Everything in this game was done RIGHT by Nintendo. They didn't make stupid mistakes, and you can tell that is due to hard work and experience. Check out the game in stores to get the full 3D effect and enjoy the game!

Super Mario Galaxy 3: What It Might Offer

Labels:

Nintendo released the original Super Mario Galaxy back in 2007, just a year after the Wii was released. It was greeted with open arms by loyal fans and brought a style of game-play that we had never seen before. Soaring reviews came, and it became "Game of the Year" by many publications.
Flash forward three years, and Galaxy 2 was released. Nintendo found a way to push the graphical limits of the Wii to its finest. The smooth, realistic look was something completely new to Wii gamers. Galaxy 2 introduced Mario's famous companion, Yoshi, into the franchise. This addition made the already popular games even more popular.
Now, we are approaching the three year mark since the last game and everybody is waiting for the next installment. Nintendo has announced their latest console, the Wii U, so it's only expected that Super Mario Galaxy 3 would be announced by it's side.
But true fans that have been following the series know that it is coming. The question is not whether or not it is coming... The question is rather what magic will it bring to the table?
One of the biggest elements that the Galaxy series has going for it is its soundtrack. Did you know that the Galaxy 2 soundtrack had over 100 tracks? The beautiful orchestra tracks give space such an elegant feel. So the first thing that can be expected is another beautiful soundtrack. And quite possibly a revamp of a couple older Nintendo songs. (The Classics)
Next, we can expect the addition of new suits for Mario to wear. In the original Mario Galaxy, we had just a few suits to play around with. When Super Mario Galaxy 2 was released, we got to use all of the old suits along with three additional suits. So for Super Mario Galaxy 3, it's very fair to assume that the old suits will all be back in play (at least in some respect), and that we will gain a couple additional suits as well. Some suits have been thrown around like the Tanooki Suit from Mario Bros 3, the Penguin Suit from Mario Bros Wii, and the Frog Suit from Mario Bros 3. With the Tanooki Suit is the latest Mario title on the 3DS, I believe that Nintendo will not be including it in Super Mario Galaxy 3. But the Penguin Suit and Frog Suit are certainly up for grabs.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Nintendo Wii Platformer) Modern Retro Game Review - Classic Mario Returns

Labels:

All the rules, none of the spirit.
That probably seems mean, but it this is the undeniable reality of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, a platforming game for the Nintendo Wii which harkens back to the original Super Mario games. You would think that because this is the second game in the New Super Mario Bros. Series that there would be some noticeable updates, but in the end you get an all too similar experience, despite being on a bigger screen.
Now, don't take this the wrong way, New Super Mario Bros. Wii is not an awful game. Truthfully, it is quite a fantastic game. It does indeed introduce a few new features, like simultaneous 4 player multiplayer, which no doubt creates chaos and ill will towards your friends. And, to be expected, you are regularly introduced to Wii motion gimmicks, but when all is said and done you're left with a game that has no real surprises and this can do a lot to dwindle the amount of enthusiasm you have towards it.
New Super Mario Bros. Wii is somewhat longer this time around, where the last game in the series (and the more recent New Super Mario Bros. 2) two worlds were locked, having to complete certain objectives to gain access to them. This time you have access to eight worlds in the main story, and then once you've beaten Bowser, you then have access to a ninth secret world that allows you to play some more levels once you've aqcuired all star coins in a given world.
The controls are okay, I suppose. But it's certainly no Super Mario World. There are at times some questionable hit detection, either for or against you. Considering this is a 2D platformer with a 3D engine, pixel perfect collision simply does not exist. But even still, on just a few occasions I noticed some irregularities. That being said, I am new to the Nintendo Wii, having picked up one up so close to the Wii U release. So, I'm sure some of this is to be blamed on my inexperience with the control scheme, specifically when the game requires you maneuver yourself both in the traditional left-right-jump format as well as motion control to interact with your environment.
The level design in New Super Mario Bros. Wii is often hit and miss. Instead of building upon mechanics introduced in previous levels, often time the game will throw an entirely unique element to the game that you won't even see again. A boat ride in a dark cave where you control a flashlight with your motion controls comes to mind, or a floating platform that will sink if too many enemies are on it (and then they have the gall to throw a ton of mini goombas that latch on to you.) Fortunately, the gimmicks that are thrown at you are intuitive enough that this doesn't become a problem, and it does a lot to keep the game feeling fresh to the end when the levels themselves are in general nothing special, outside of a couple of cases. I really like the forest levels with pits of poisonous liquid, I don't know why. But I digress
Difficulty in New Super Mario Bros. Wii seems to be all over the place. In one level you might find yourself casually strolling while navigating some mildly challenging platforming obstacles, and the next level they'll throw a hundred bullet bills at you from every direction with no pattern as you navigate with both the Wii motion controls. To have the best experience with this game, you're pretty much expected to have played the older Mario games extensively, and while this isn't much of an issue for people who are experienced gamers, this can be somewhat frustrating for people who are new to gaming, which seems to counteract Nintendo's current market.
I can understand that after however many games in the Mario series there has been it can difficult to keep things fresh, but largely the levels in New Super Mario Bros Wii seem uninspired. It almost seems like a remix of classic Mario elements with modern mechanics, but it's not even close to the level of New Super Mario Bros 2, it's successor. That being said, it's nice to see some obstacles and certain enemies from previous games, and it's especially nice to ride Yoshi in 2D again.
If there's one thing that the New Super Mario Bros. Series does right, it's the final world. The Lava, the smoke, the deterioration. Everything just screams "This is it, this is the end of my journey." It perfectly executes the feeling of escalation before that climatic battle with the big Bowser. However, although the final battle is more than satisfying, I did find it a bit on the easier side, beating it in one go when other levels from a few worlds back were kicking my butt.
I'm not a huge fan of the Music here, although it does enough justice to serve as suiting background music, and it's devilishly catchy. As I write this the damn overworld theme keeps running through my head. Please Kill Me. Only the dead can be at peace from this suffering.
When all is said and done, New Super Mario Bros. Wii is definitely worth your purchase and play if you have not already. Just be prepared for a few frustrations here and there. Despite it's flaws it somehow makes you want to keep playing all the way through. It took me two days to complete, but only because I started later at night and I just couldn't coordinate myself with the sleep deprivation. It's a solid game, although perhaps not a primary example of a game you'd recommend when someone says they want to play a Mario Bros. game. This is definitely a game for the old Mario fans, and if you are member of that club you have no reason not to play it.

New Super Mario Bros 2 Game Review

Labels:

Better late than never right? No? Well OK, sorry. The reason it's taken so long to write the game review for "New Super Mario Bros. 2" is because it takes an absolute age to write that title! Just kidding, the truth is I have taken so long to write this because I've been having so much fun playing it!
Now, while that may sound like a good thing (because it is) I do have some negative points, first of all let me tell you how easy the game is. Honestly, it makes my 6 year old self think I was completely incompetent at playing games when I was younger, but I wasn't! The fact of the matter is, "NSMB2" is just much easier than Mario games of old, I'm not saying there isn't a challenge for the seasoned fans of chubby plumbers, but overall if you are good at Mario games you'll be steaming through those levels like nobody's business, and if you aren't? Well if you die enough times on a level you are given the opportunity to use the golden raccoon suit, which basically makes you invincible to everything but falling off the level. So failure isn't an option really.
Let's take a minute to look over some other negative points, 'variety' there isn't much, apart from the staples like 'fire flower' and 'super mushroom' there isn't really a lot of new items, the 'mini mushroom' and 'mega mushroom' make a welcome return but are hardly used. The only new addition to the roster of power-ups worth mentioning is the 'golden fire flower' which turns Mario into a Midas/Terminator hybrid, smashing bricks and bad guys all over the show, very cool indeed. But apart from that it's business as usual with the controls being as tight as always and the charm factor cranked up to 11. Oh and I should really mention the coins, everybody likes coins right? Well you'd better, because you'll be collecting a whole lot of them! One million to be exact.
But you will be after the hefty sum of 1,000,000 golden coins this time around and there are many ways of achieving this (HINT: Golden Fire Flower might help.)
A new feature which I've yet to try out is 'coin rush' you post the fastest times on 3 random levels to your "streetpass" in the game and when you and a stranger or friend pass each other in the street with your 3DS's their coin rush challenge will show on your game and yours on theirs, then you can try to beat the times they posted and hope they're failing miserably at trying to beat yours.
New Super Mario Bros 2 Game Review Conclusion
So where does this leave us?
Well I know it seems like a lacklustre review as this is the first time I've reviewed a Mario game for my place of work. But I've been reviewing Mario games since I was a kid, every game that's released is compared to it's predecessors and it's no different with Mario, but after 25 years the reviews will start to sound stale for the same franchise, but let me tell you something. This game is really fun and a franchise doesn't get to be over 25 years old if it isn't really fun to play. So don't worry about it, the game wasn't broken so they didn't need to fix it, they've made a few tweaks here and there and shined it with more polish and gave it the golden seal of approval.
Video Game Visuals - 85/100 (Crisp, colourful, bouncy and beautiful. Only let down by the weird 3D effect which blurs the background on purpose when turned on, to add the effect of depth. Which seems kind of pointless on a device capable of 3 dimensions! Better played in 2D in my opinion.)
Video Game Gameplay - 90/100 (It's Super Mario! Nintendo wouldn't release a Mario game that doesn't have tight and responsive controls. Other than that it is business as usual with cruelty to turtles and a careless disregard to health and safety by eating strange mushrooms. Overall, the way it should be but it loses a few points for being just a little bit too easy.)
Video Game Sound - 90/100 - (Suspiciously catchy jingles will make sure you're humming and whistling the tunes from the game for hours after you have stopped playing, so you sing them in public until it spreads like a virus, making everyone buy Mario. In short, the music is toe tapping, sugar coated goodness.)

Super Mario Crossover 2, A Remarkable Twist On An Old Classic

Labels:

Are you ready for a version of Super Mario Brothers that you've never played before? If you're into the world of Mario like millions of other people around the world then Super Mario Crossover is a must play game for you.
Super Mario Brothers is one of the most popular video games of all time and there are so many gamers out there that can't seem to get enough. Nowadays you will even find a lot of the gamers playing this game are adults. This is because Mario came out in the 80's and that's when they were kids.
Today the new programmer minds of the day are resurrecting these old classics and adding a new feel to them. Once they have their latest version available we then find access to it online for our enjoyment.
Super Mario Crossover is by far one of the best remakes of an old classic to date. The game was developed with care and not much was overlooked. The reason for the word Crossover in the title relates to the added characters that can be played in the game. Some of the more famous characters from the same time in the 80's like Megaman and Link from the Legend of Zelda can be used to play in Mario's world.
This remake is done with accuracy as well. All of the characters are in their full 8 bit mode and work with all the standard rules of Mario's world. As you must know from playing the original Super Mario Brothers, when you want to get your small little character to power up you must do things like collect flowers and stars. This still holds true in this version for Mario and Luigi but the other characters power up in their own way. They power up according to the weapon that comes with them from their original game. So if you power up with Megaman you will be able to fly farther and shoot fireballs with his cannon. This accurate element to each character adds a unique game play experience.
Super Mario Crossover gets even better when it comes to the music soundtrack of the game. When you decide to play with a different character; the game music changes to the characters original score. So after you've played with Mario and heard the music we all know and love you can then play with Link from the Legend of Zelda and play with all the original music from that game. It makes the feel of the game different and adds a true nostalgic touch.
A few tips when using different characters in the game, for example some of them tend to have a height advantage and will be able to make kills from a few different positions. Some of them can lie down or crouch down in order to kill. In order to control them to make such a move just press down on the keyboard. Again these abilities add yet another level of capabilities to this great game.

Super Mario - Since the Beginning

Labels:

Mario is easily one of the most recognizable faces to come out of Nintendo, but did you know his original name was Jumpman? That's right, in 1981 Mario first appeared in Donkey Kong, but then, he went by the name of Jumpman, but Mario was used as his name in some promotional material.
This game surprised Nintendo by its extreme success. To test the popularity of Mario, Nintendo released an arcade game called Marion Bros., which included Mario and his brother Luigi. This game was an immense success for Nintendo. Because of the success of both Donkey Kong and Mario Bros., in 1983, when Nintendo release the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System), they also release Super Mario Bros.
References to his original name appear in a couple of Mario games, such as in Paper Mario: the Thousand-Year Door, when an audience member refers to Mario as Jumpman before a battle, and in Mario Hoops 3-on-3, where his nickname is "The Jumpman."
Mario's look, even to this current day, can be blamed on the limitations that were placed on the programmers and artists back in the early 80s by their current technology.
The programmers couldn't animate Mario's arms when he moved without making them disappear, so they gave him overalls and a solid shirt color.
They also didn't have room for a face or ears, and couldn't animate his hair, so they gave him his mustache, sideburns, and a baseball cap. Shigeru Miyamoto, Mario's creator, has stated in interviews that Mario wears a baseball cap because he finds it difficult to draw hair.
Mario's surname or last name is also Mario, which explains the use of Mario Bros. as game titles, because Luigi is Mario's brother, so they have the same last name. was first used in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show, and then again in 1993 in a movie called Super Mario Bros.. Nintendo as a whole has never officially confirmed it, but it was put up on Nintendo of Europe's official Mario Megasite.
Ever since Mario has been popular he has been the unofficial mascot of Nintendo. He has been extremely and possibly over-merchandised along with his one time rival Sonic the Hedgehog, who came to be Sega's mascot in the early 1990s.
They competed fiercely until 2001, when Sonic Adventure 2: Battle came out for a Nintendo console due to Sega's new third-party status. Even though Sonic and Mario were now on Nintendo consoles, they still competed with each other, though not as much as before.
It hasn't been until recently, that they've been seen working together in the newly released Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games for the Wii. They will also appear in Super Smash Bros. Brawl together as well.
Mario is a 5 foot tall, portly plumber from Brooklyn, New York who lives in Mushroom Kingdom. He is considered to be the most famous video game character in history, and his series of games has sold over 193 million copies.
Mario has not only appeared in plat formers, but in other genres as well. The other genres include reaching, with Mario Kart, sports games such as Mario Tennis, and RPGs such as Super Mario RPG: The Legend of the Seven Stars.
Although Mario's said occupation is being a plumber, he is almost never seen doing any actual plumbing. With the exceptions being in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and in the original Mario Bros.. Pipes have still remained a mode of transportation, however, although the reason as to why might not be clear. However, in the original Donkey Kong games, Mario, who was still called Jumpman, was actually a carpenter.
Mario has also appeared as a doctor in Dr. Mario. He has even been shown as an archaeologist in the Game Boy game, Mario's Picross.
Mario's favorite pastime seems to be saving Princess Peach, and Mushroom Kingdom. Other ways he spends his time is battling villains, namely Bowser. In the role-playing games, Mario is given a heroic status for saving the Mushroom Kingdom so many times. In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, he and Luigi are called "superstars", which basically means huge celebrities.
Ever since his first appearance in a video game, Mario has been given the role of the hero, destined to save the damsel in distress. In the original Donkey Kong, he had to rescue his girlfriend, Pauline from Donkey Kong. Pauline obviously didn't stay in the series, as she was replaced by Princess Peach, who was originally referred to as "Princess Toadstool" or just "the Princess" in the English releases, in Super Mario Bros.
In 1993, with the release of Yoshi's Safari, Princess Peach was finally used in an English release of a Mario game, but it still wasn't used as widely until the release of Super Mario 64 for the Nintendo 64, three years later. Pauline has only been seen twice since the original Donkey Kong, once in the remake for the Game Boy, and once in Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis, in 2006.
She has since been described as Mario's friend, not girlfriend, as that appears to be Peach's position. Mario has received a kiss from her countless times, after each time he's rescued her, but the true status of their relationship has never been officially revealed, most likely to avoid the problems experienced with Pauline, but there is obviously affection shared between Mario and Peach.
Most of Mario's abilities come from the items that he collects and uses. In the platform games, there is the Super Mushroom, which makes Mario double in size. He is called "Super Mario", when he is in this state, and he also gets an extra hit point.
Other examples of items include the Fire Flower, which turns Mario into Fiery Mario, or just Fire Mario. This allows him to throw fireballs at his enemies. Another item is the star, which makes Mario completely invincible, and allows him to defeat all enemies with a single touch.
In other versions of Mario plat formers, there are other unique items, such as the Raccoon Leaf, and the Cape Feather. The Raccoon Leaf turns Mario into Raccoon Mario, and allows him to fly short distances by whipping his tail around in the air, sort of like Tails from the Sonic the Hedgehog games.
The Cape Feather obviously turns Mario into Cape Mario, which allows him to whip his cape at enemies to attack ,and also allows him to fly. In Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, Mario can pick up the Power Carrot, which transforms Mario into Bunny Mario and makes his falling speed reduced.
Obviously, Mario is an extremely popular character, who has been in many games, and has even inspired indie games and online flash games, which get tons of hits and plays because they are free. With the increasing demand for new games, you can look for Mario to keep evolving and testing the waters in new genres as well. The future is still as bright for Mario as it was 20 years ago.
